BURNS, Carmen Consuelo

God accepts another angel into his open arms… Carmen Consuelo Burns a.k.a. Honey, Chelo, Mom and Nana passed away peacefully at home in Tucson, AZ on Monday, August 17, 2020. Born in Ures, Sonora, Mexico on April 24, 1936 to Carlos and Maria Dominguez. Carmen grew up in Hermosillo along with four sisters, Loretto, Josephina, Siria, Amanda and one brother, Carlos. After graduating High School, she attended vocational training for accounting and was a top student in her class, she loved working with numbers and found work in banking. In the fall of 1957, during a chance meeting with friends, she would meet the love of her life, James Burns, beginning a lifelong romance that would change the course of her life and citizenship to a new country. Married 62 years, they were inseparable, always on the same page with raising children and the many business ventures that formed a trusted partnership. Together, they role modeled trust, honesty, respect, integrity, hard work, love and forgiveness daily. Carmen was a master domino player, tough to beat. She also learned to shoot pool onehanded and could give anybody a run for their money during the days they owned the Paddock Bar in South Tucson. Carmen was above all giving, charity was a big part of who she was. "When your hand is open to give, it is also open to receive" she would say. She volunteered as an interpreter at UMC, fed the homeless and donated clothing and shoes to shelters. One of her favorite organizations was Operation Smile. Carmen was a loving daughter and sister; a devoted wife, mother and friend. Carmen joins her beloved husband, James Burns, who passed just five weeks before her. She will always remain a dear mother to Jimmy, Denise, Kevin, Susie, Melissa, Bridgette and Nana to Carlos, Christopher, Aleksander, Jackson and Lucy. COCIO, Anthony "Tony"

59, went home to Jesus on August 16, 2020. He was met with abounding joy by Manny and Bea, his parents and Damie, his brother. He leaves a huge hole in the heart of his sister, Maryanne and her husband, Tedd. He will also be missed by many cousins and his caregiver of many years, Delia. Thanks to staff at Sandruby and Family Hospice Care for their support the last years of his life. Originally expected to survive only a few days, love and prayers led to a long and fulfilling life. He loved anything red, the Arizona Wildcats, Bowling, WWE, riding the van and going to his day program. But, he enjoyed eating most of all. COX, Claudia Theo

76, became one of her family's guardian angels on June 22, 2020. She was born in Birmingham, AL on October 25, 1943, graduated San Manuel High School, San Manuel, AZ, in 1961 and attended Pasadena City College, Pasadena, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude S. Cox and Thelma E. Berryhill of San Manuel, AZ, as well as her brothers, Baley (Dave) Cox of Las Vegas, NV and Wayne Cox of Rockford, IL and sisters, Donna Cox of Tucson, AZ and Nellie Johnson of Post Falls, ID. She leaves behind daughter, Debra Smith Holbrook; granddaughter, Jordan Holbrook Jenkins; grandson, Nathan Holbrook, and great-grandson, Gabriel Jenkins; as well as a brother, Lewis (Skip) Cox of Yuma, AZ and sisters, Lela Sawyer of Panama City, FL and Kay Bridgham of Wilkes-Barre, PA. CRAWFORD, Betty Hall

lost her long battle with Alzheimer's disease after ten years, on August 7, 2020. She was born to N.B. and Thelma Hall, October 20, 1940 in Robins, N.C. and resided in Franklinville N.C. for many years. She is survived by brothers, Joe, Ron, Lynn and Clarence Hall, all living in the Franklinville area.

In May 1964, Betty married Air Force Capt. Dale Crawford, formerly of Lakewood, Ohio, in Arlington, VA, and began a wonderful journey for the next 56 years. They had three children, Lisa born in Delaware, Dave in Ohio, and Robert in Florida. They all live in Colorado with their families and three grandchildren, Jake and Talia in Eagle and Joey in Avon.

Betty and Dale loved to travel, and visited all 50 states, and 36 foreign countries, on 5 continents. Besides cruising, they enjoyed playing cards, golf, and tennis with friends and family. They were active members of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. There will be no Funeral, but a Memorial Service will be held in the future, after the Covid-19 pandemic is under control. DICK, Helen "Robbie"

Robbie Dick, citizen diplomat, lifelong feminist, and passionate advocate for human rights, died on August 16, 2020 in the Los Angeles home of her son, Kirby, at the age of 96. Robbie was born December 16, 1923 in Ely, Nevada, to William and Sarah Ethel (Neilson) Robison. She graduated with a B.A. from Occidental College in 1945. In 1949, Robbie took a summer job waitressing at Yellowstone National Park, where she met the love of her life, James Dick, a Navy veteran working as a bellhop. They were married in Phoenix in 1951 and settled in Tucson where they raised their three sons. For 23 years Robbie taught 5th and 7th grades in the Amphitheater School District while Jim taught high school. Summers became a time for family adventures, visiting National Parks and their many friends around the country and the world; instilling a love of travel, wilderness, and the wonder of nature in their three sons and later in their grandchildren. In 1973, Robbie and Jim joined St. Francis in the Foothills Methodist Church, where they worked tirelessly to improve the lives of undocumented immigrants and refugees; and helped transform the Methodist Church into an inclusive space for the LGBTQ+ community. In the 1980s they became catalysts for Citizen Diplomacy, leading over a dozen tour groups from Tucson to the Soviet Union so that everyday Americans could engage personally with Soviet citizens as friends rather than enemies. These unofficial diplomatic ventures ultimately contributed to the end of the Cold War. In 1996, Jim succumbed to prostate cancer, but Robbie carried on as a committed activist, bringing her vivacious energy to many progressive community organizations. Just weeks before she went into hospice, she was visiting residents in her assisted living facility, registering them to vote. Robbie was predeceased by her brother, Philip Robison. She is survived by her brother, Roger Robison; three sons, Kirby, Dana and Dallas; three daughters-in-law, Rita, Barbara and Jean; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. ELKINS, William, Jr.

entered the Lord's presence on June 29, 2020. He was born July 10, 1958 in Wheeling, WV to the late Bill Elkins and Mary R. Elkins. He was raised in Columbus, Ohio and served in the U.S. Army before moving to Tucson, AZ in 1981. He was well known for the courageous way he faced life's struggles and his adventurous spirit. He was an avid bicyclist, enjoyed fishing, hiking, motorcycles and working with his hands as a talented carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Alice Elkins; sons, Dallas (Blair) Elkins and Loren Elkins; siblings, Jeff (Deedee) Elkins and Randy (Sue) Elkins; grandchildren, Juniper, Oliver, Ammon and Astin Elkins; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. EMICH, Thomas G.

It is with an abundance of sadness and grief that the family of Tom Emich announce his passing due to complications after a recent surgery on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Tom was born June 24, 1959 in Joliet, Illinois. He graduated Joliet Catholic HS in 1977 and earned his Business Administration Degree from Regis College, Denver in 1983.

Tom grew up in a New Car Dealership family. Both his maternal and paternal grandfathers (Fred Emich Sr. and Daniel Ganey) owned dealerships in the Chicago area beginning in the early 1920's. Fred's son, Fred Emich Jr. and Daniel's daughter, Barbara Ganey married in 1950.

A quick study, Tom learned the business at his dad's Ford dealership in Joliet and his family's dealerships in the Denver area. As a 3rd generation new car dealer, Tom opened Emich Oldsmobile in Tucson with his dad in 1985 and became a 35-year resident of Tucson. To expand their presence in the Southern Arizona marketplace he later acquired the Subaru and Suzuki product lines. The dealership earned both an Elite Oldsmobile Dealer and Subaru Stellar Performer Certification. After selling the business in 2010, Tom stayed active in the auto business as a broker/wholesaler coupled with real estate investments.

Tom was a lucky guy. His business was his passion and loved car talk with anyone and everyone. A real people person, he was always ready with a smile to greet family, friends, business associates and customers. Beyond that, Tom was a wealth of knowledge on almost any subject from astronomy to sports and was well-known for his annual Super Bowl parties. His outgoing, charismatic personality made Tom friends wherever he went. With his effervescent smile, people naturally gravitated towards Tom and he had an uncanny ability to remember names and faces. A lifelong athlete, he was accomplished in hockey, downhill skiing, hunting, fishing and golfing.

Tom married Mimi Wilhelmi in 1983 and they had two sons and one daughter. Following their divorce, Tom married Jeri Griffin in 2002. Tom's favorite times were their family vacations, ski trips, and weekends on the boat at the lakes. And while his children embraced his spirit for adventure, Tom also taught them how to live life, to take personal responsibility, to be kind, encouraging them to set goals and follow through. And, along the way Tom as a parent became their friend. On his romantic side, for the past 24 years, Tom loved and was in love with Jeri. And she with him. She was his best friend. He taught her how to enjoy life every day. They simply fit together and theirs was a love story of which songs are written.

Tom is survived by devoted wife, Jeri; loving children, Matthew (Danielle), Elena (Scott), Tom and stepchildren, Michaeline Heydari (Nate), Brittany Shochat (Orin) and Wyatt Mayfield; beloved mother, Barbara; siblings, Fred III (Carol), Annie Emich Black (Bruce Mattherly), Daniel (Mary Jane), Mary Emich and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Jr.

FARMER, LeRoy R. "Lee"

passed away on August 17, 2020 in Tucson. He is survived by his wife, Jean C. Farmer; son, Neal (Debby), Greg and two grandsons, Kevin and Justin (Elizabeth). He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce W. Farmer (Laura) and his parents. Lee was born August 6, 1919 in Lincoln, Nebraska the oldest son of Elmer and Emma Farmer. He attended schools in Lincoln and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1941 from the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska he was a member of the football team in 1937 and 1938. He was called to duty in 1941 in the Army Air Corps. He served in the United States and Europe and was released from duty in 1946 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He remained in the Reserves and was retired in 1967 from the Arizona National Guard as a Colonel.

He worked for Valley National Bank for 25 years and retired as Vice President and Manager of Corporate Banking and Agricultural loans in 1983. During that time he earned his masters degree from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

He was active in many civic organizations and was most proud of being a founding member of the Southern Arizona Aquatic Association where he served as president for two years. He was president of the Arizona AAU, the Robert Morris Association and Skyline Country Club. He has been active in St. Andrews Presbyterian church where he served as an Elder and as president of the Board of Trustees.

He loved sports and was an avid supporter of Nebraska Football (Go Big Red) and Arizona Basketball (Bear Down). He loved golf, playing for over 80 years. He and Jean loved their family-built cabin in Pinetop. He learned to snow ski in his 40's, became a pilot in his 50's and he and Jean enjoyed world travel throughout their lives. FELMLEY, Jerry J.

Retired Air Force Colonel

a veteran of the Vietnam War, died on July 21, 2020, at age 87. Colonel Felmley, born in 1933, was a native of Bloomington, Illinois, the son of the John B. and Beatrice S. Felmley. He was a 1950 graduate of Bloomington High School where he was president of his junior class, a member of football, baseball and swimming teams, and a National Honor Society student. His youth was spent in and around Bloomington, where he spent several summers working for his father's construction firm, the Felmley-Dickerson Company. He was a civil engineering graduate of the University of Illinois where he joined Phi Delta Theta fraternity, was an active member of the Interfraternity Council, and a frequent actor in station WILL's Studio Theater.

Colonel Felmley was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force from Reserve Officer's Training Corps at the University of Illinois in 1955 and later augmented into the Air Force's Regular Officer Corps. He completed pilot training in Marana, Arizona, launching the love of the desert southwest that would bring him back to Tucson three decades later. His early USAF assignments included over eight years of international flying from Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina, to Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East. Missions included the Hungarian airlift, the Suez crisis, support for the United Nations in Congo, and resupply for the South Pole's McMurdo Sound. As a 24 year old First Lieutenant, he was one of the Air Force's youngest Aircraft Commanders. During these heady years as a young pilot in Charleston he met and married Jenrose Weldon and started a family. He completed a Masters of Business Administration in 1965 under a special Air Force scholarship program for aerospace research and development managers at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.

Colonel Felmley was a career officer and a father with young family in 1970, but felt the call to seek active duty in the Vietnam War rather than stay stateside. During the war he was Aircraft Commander on Aerospace Rescue and Recovery missions flying from the Republic of Vietnam and Thailand. It was his Rescue C-130 tanker and communications aircraft that led the Jolly Green helicopter forces on the famous Son Tay POW rescue mission in November, 1970. After Vietnam, Colonel Felmley spent three years on the USAF's Air Staff in the Pentagon directing operation evaluation and analytic studies of new airlift aircraft. He was a Distinguished Graduate of the prestigious National Defense University's Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington, DC, and a member of that institution's faculty for two years. Colonel Felmley's latter career was spent in senior management of Air Force research and development at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Colonel Felmley's decorations included the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Meritorious Service Medals, seven Air Medals, and two Presidential Unit Citations. He was a Command Pilot with over 11,000 flying hours in 27 different aircraft and experience in all of the USAF's 4-engine transports operational between 1955 and 1980.

After his retirement from the Air Force in 1981, Colonel Felmley started Catalyst Associates, a consulting group doing work in aerospace research and development management. That work kept him busy for about another decade until he finally, fully retired.

Retirement allowed him to travel ever more widely, including trips to Moscow in 1994 as part of an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics technical exchange group, Hong Kong for the 1997 transition from British to Chinese control, and numerous Lindblad/National Geographic cruises from Alaska to Baja to the Antarctic to follow in the footsteps of Shackleton. Favorite in-country haunts included Portland, San Diego to visit with crews of the subs, and trips to see family in Bloomington, San Antonio and Santa Fe. Retirement also brought more time to sit on the porch watching the cactus wrens, doves and quail who flocked to the feeder and water in the shady spot under the paloverde trees, as well as one more romance when he reconnected with high school friend and Bloomington neighbor, Susie Jefferson.

Throughout his life, Colonel Felmley was an active member of numerous charitable and professional organizations: the Air Force Association, the American Defense Preparedness Association, the Order of Daedalians, alumni associations of the universities of Illinois and Chicago and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, the Phi Delta Theta national fraternity as well as the Green Valley Phi Delts, and the Jolly Green Association, whose Ft. Walton Beach reunions were the highlight of many years. He showed his love for Tucson after moving there in 1989 by joining booster clubs for both the USS Tucson and the USS Arizona submarines, attending the Tucson Rodeo and baseball spring training faithfully, and becoming a deeply engaged contributing member of the Reid Park Zoological Society.Survivors include three daughters, Melissa, Jennifer and Amy and grandchildren, Catharine Rose, Conor and James Nicholas. Due to the public health emergency, there will be no memorial service at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to your local food bank.

KING, Mike L.

57, of Tucson passed in the presence of his family on August 13, 2020 from cancer. Mike worked at New Way Auto Parts, his family business, from the age of seven. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, and he loved visiting National Parks. As a music lover, he would eat ice cream and listen to blues on Sunday evenings. MOLINA, Peter B.

69, passed away August 11, 2020.

Preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Mackey.

Peter was born in Tucson, AZ and served in the USAF.

He enjoyed a long career as an aircraft interior

NORTON, Harold L.

Harold L. Norton, was born in Garden City, Kansas on Oct 4, 1935.

He attended École International School in Geneva, Switzerland, the International School of the Netherlands and his senior year of high school was in Paris, France at American Community School, now the American School of Paris.

He attended Kansas State University, then transferred to the University of Maryland to participate in the International Agriculture Economics program. After graduation, he joined the Foreign Agriculture Service for the US Department of the Agriculture. He remained there for 31 years. He served in The Hague, Netherlands, Nairobi, Kenya and Warsaw, Poland. He worked mostly in African countries, most Middle East countries, and to a large portion of Asia.

In 1988 he received a call from the Secretary General of the United Nations to join the UN. He was assigned to Sudan, in Northern Africa, as Country Director. He was asked to transfer to Kenya to take over the Country's and Regional responsibilities.

Upon retirement in in 1998 he moved to Tucson, Arizona.

He became involved in Antique and Classic cars, winning Grand National Awards and becoming president of three different Car Clubs. He enjoyed the opera, traveling, and the Dutch Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Harold Norton, and Cora Norton Mostek.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kathryn Knapp Norton; children, Elizabeth M. Norton of Annandale, VA, Kathryn N. Paulk (Tom) of Annandale, VA, and Lawrence H. Norton of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Casey L. Norton and Adrianna N. Lindsey (Kevin) and one great-grandchild, Kora Lindsey; three brothers, Bruce Norton (Marie) of College Station, TX, David Norton (Connie) of The Woodlands, TX, and Colburn Norton (Susan) of Plano, TX; plus a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved friends and relatives.

PIERSON, Geraldine Mae

a loving wife and mother, left to meet her husband, Donald (April 2020) in the afterlife August 15, 2020. They join their son, Max (1971). Gerry was born near Torrington, Wyoming on the family farm on January 1, 1936. As a lifelong educator she taught at ten schools, plus gave private piano lessons. Her last teaching position before retiring was at Howenstein TUSD. The Arizona Music Education Association recognized Gerry as Outstanding Music Educator by inducting her into their hall of fame in 1996. A person of incredible work ethic, leadership, charisma, and musicianship, she leaves a lasting legacy and will be sorely missed by the lives she touched: her students, her colleagues, her fellow musicians, her family including her sister, Delores; six grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and especially by her children, Roxanne, Donnine, Bryan, Tuesday and Chris. RICE, Martin "Marty"

80 years of age, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn H. (nee Komar) Rice of 56 years of marriage and two children, Jeffrey M. (Sandra) Rice of Algonquin, IL and Jennifer L. Rice of Lake-in-the-Hills, IL. He was a United States Navy veteran as well as a 35-year employee of United Airlines at which time he retired to Tucson, AZ where he thrived for another 21 years. He loved all sports especially football, bocce ball, ping-pong and of course, baseball where he was fortunate to see his beloved Chicago Cubbies win the World Series in 2016.

RODRIGUEZ, Miguel Angel, Jr.

Born March 14, 1975 to parents, Georgina Moreno and Miguel A. Rodríguez Sr.

Miguel passed away August 10, 2020 after a long and complicated illness. In his final days he was at peace with the world. He is preceded in death by his father, his grandfathers, Angel Rodriguez and Fernando Moreno and brother, Dominic Peter Soto. He is survived by his mother, Georgina; grandmothers, Sally Rodriguez and Irene Moreno; sisters, Delilah Soto, Miriam and Elisha Rivera; brothers, Santos, Armando and Martin Rodriquez. He will be missed by his daughters, Samantha and Brianna Rodriguez and his one-month old granddaughter, Zota Miguel. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Most especially, his uncle Marc who was like a brother to him.

SADOWSKY, Morton "Mort" Alan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away on August 10, 2020 at the age of 86. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Irving and Marcine Sadowsky and moved to Tucson when he was seven. He is survived by his wife, Belia Sadowsky; children, Mike Sadowsky (Cindy), Rachel Miller (Jeff), Matt Sadowsky (Shelly); their mother, Lynn and daughter, Alicia Brown (Bill); 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A successful businessman, Mort was known for his quick wit, humor and his love of family and friends. Due to COVID 19 a public service will not be held. VERHALEN, Edward R. "Eddie"

79, of Tucson, AZ, and formerly Whitefish Bay, WI, entered the gates of heaven on August 2, 2020. Survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Joanne; sons, Joshua, Edward Scott (Lisa), Cary (Jean), Matt (Sarah); daughter, Tina (Doug) McConnohie and beloved sister, Vicki (Fred) Gumina. VERRAN, Joyce

Beloved daughter, friend, colleague, and esteemed nurse scientist died on August 10, 2020. Although Joyce was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1941 she considered herself a Tucson native after moving here as a small child. After graduating from Tucson High, she began her nursing career at the Los Angeles County Hospital. She obtained her nursing degrees, Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate from the University of Arizona. She was the first director of nursing at the then University of Arizona Medical Center Hospital. She taught at the College of Nursing for 25 years advancing to the ranks of professor and serving as a Division Director. After retiring from the UofA she joined the faculty at the University of Colorado College of Nursing as a professor. Joyce was a nationally and internationally recognized nursing expert dedicated to preparing the next generation of nursing system researchers. She was a pioneer in advancing the understanding of contemporary systems research design and measurement and was sought out by scholars and health care leaders for her knowledge of instrumentation and analysis. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Melvin Verran. She will be sorely missed by her adopted sister, Lisa Heltemes and family. Dr. Verran's humor, generosity and wisdom will be remembered by the many colleagues and students whose lives she touched. WARFIELD, Leila Hammel

11/9/1925 - 8/3/2020

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator and philanthropist, Leila passed away on August 3, 2020, soon after being surrounded by her children and celebrating 73 years of marriage to her husband, Totten K. Warfield, Sr.

Leila was one of four children of George and Marie Hammel, born in Austin, Illinois on November 9, 1925. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Iowa in 1947, and shortly thereafter, married on August 2, 1947 at the Riverside Presbyterian Church to Totten K. Warfield, Sr.

They moved to Tucson, AZ in 1947 and resided in Polo Village, a World War II Veteran village for married couples where she co-founded the Polo Village Nursery School. Soon, Totten and Leila opened three Zesto stores with four children in tow: Totten K. Warfield, Jr.; Thomas Kevin Warfield; Susan Warfield Preimesberger and Pamela Warfield Sands.

When Totten and Leila's children all reached school age, Leila became a school teacher at Tully Elementary school and taught there for 22 years, touching the lives of hundreds of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. She loved children and teaching.

Growing up in the Warfield family was a blast with weekends and holidays filled with backpacking, boating, camping, climbing mountains, skiing and adventures to Canada, Alaska and all parts of Mexico. Leila and Totten always encouraged their children to bring friends on their trips and to their home where food and cases of Pleasure Time soda were plentiful along with playing in the pool with a spring-loaded diving board or tetherball, basketball, Ping-Pong, Foosball, gymnastic mats and balance beam, musical instruments, and many animals. It was a busy and fun home!

Leila and Totten both retired in 1982 and traveled the world eventually visiting 137 countries.

Leila volunteered with the Perimeter Bicycling Association of America for 33 years, volunteered 18 years with the Arizona Cancer Center, was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma- Lambda Epsilon Chapter Sorority for 48 years, delivered Meals-on-Wheels, was a Cub Scout leader, and a member at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church for over 60 years.

Leila is survived by her husband, Totten K Warfield, Sr.; four children, Totten K. Warfield, Jr. (Donna), Thomas K. Warfield, Sr. (Karen), Susan Warfield Preimesberger (Neal), and Pamela Warfield Sands (Jeff); eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The Warfield family is grateful for the loving and dedicated care from the staff at Handmaker's Assisted Living. They would also like to thank Home Instead's personal caregivers for their loving care and devotion to Leila, Traditions Hospice Care for their journey with Mom and family, St. Mark's Presbyterian Church for their cards and visits, and to all her friends and family who visited, sent cards, letters and gifts.

Services and a Celebration of Life will be held at Black Oak Pioneer Cemetery, Sonoita, AZ in December 2020.

WOLFSON, Catherine Lincoln

(1946 - 2020)

Catherine Lincoln Wolfson slipped away peacefully on July 30, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Louisville, KY, on February 25, 1946, she spent most of her youth in Prescott, AZ. She graduated from Prescott High School, the University of Arizona (B.A. degrees in Russian and French), and the University of Missouri (Master's in Library Science). She was employed for over 30 years at the Arizona Health Sciences Library at the University of Arizona.

Cathy's great passion, developed at an early age, was music; her mother, an accomplished mezzo soprano, sang operatic arias as she did housework. Her family has fond memories of Christmas carols in four-part harmony gathered around Cathy at the piano. Although she studied voice and sang solo, choral music was her joy. She sang with the choirs at St. Paul's/Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Tucson for 40 years. She was a founding member Arizona Repertory Singers, performing solos and writing program notes. She also sang in the Tucson Masterworks Chorale and the Tucson Opera Company. Cathy had perfect pitch—the ability to look at a note on the page and hear it in her head—and was sometimes used by her ensembles as a human pitch pipe for a cappella singing. In 2005, Cathy combined her professional and musical interests, collaborating with a fellow musical librarian in a mini-concert offered in conjunction with the Arizona Health Sciences Library's exhibit "Diseases of Famous Composers, or Why They Are Decomposing."

As Cathy loved music, she also loved languages and other cultures. In addition to Russian and French, she studied Spanish, Italian, and Hungarian and used those languages during her travels. On tour with the Arizona Repertory Singers in France, Cathy provided concert introductions in French, after which audience members asked what part of France she was from. She relished domestic and international trips with family and friends.

Cathy had a devoted circle of friends and was always up for a meal out, a movie, or a rousing game of Uno. Many New Year's Eve celebrations featured Cathy on soprano as the gathered assembly belted out the Hallelujah Chorus on kazoos at midnight. She loved bright colors and large jewelry and was as demonstrative with her affection and generosity as she was bold in her presentation. She never passed up a chance to share strong opinions on any political topic. Childhood polio left her with pain and mobility challenges in her later years, but she carried on with determination and courage.

Cathy was predeceased by her parents, John G. Lincoln, Jr. and Elinor P. Lincoln, and is survived by her brothers, John Lincoln and James Lincoln; her sister, Barbara (Lincoln) Tonn; her ex-husband, David Wolfson; her nephews, Adam Lincoln and Daniel Tonn and her niece, Jennifer (Tonn) Thomas, as well as her cats, Tobi and Lizzie. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Grace Saint Paul's Episcopal Church at a later date. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to charities that support disadvantaged youth, the Arizona Repertory Singers, or the Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church music program.
