HAUBERG, Jeanne

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jeanne passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on April 30, 2020 at age 90. Jeanne was born on August 28, 1929 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to parents, Ruby and Charles Proksch. She graduated from Saint Aguinas High School in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and moved to South Bend, Indiana to attend Saint Mary's College. She met and married Steve Oltman in September of 1950.

Jeanne and her first husband parented nine children and is survived by Pat Oltman, Beverly Oltman, Philip Oltman, Gerry (Peggy) Oltman, Marty (Alice) Oltman, David (Liz) Calhoon, Laura Nordstrom and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Paul (Yaffa) Oltman and Joseph (Leila) Oltman. Jeanne is survived by sibling, Gary (Vickie) Proksch and preceded in death by siblings, Charlie (Gloria) Proksch, Ronnie (Emma) Proksch, Eileen Murphy and her parents.

Jeanne moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1966, and is known for her love of cooking and planning family get togethers. She retired from Hughes Aircraft Company in December 1989. During her retirement, Jeanne was never one to sit idle and loved to travel. She engaged in a variety of creative activities including flower arranging and quilting. She never missed an opportunity to go to the fabric and craft stores. She maintained a beautiful yard full of plants and flowers and volunteered serving meals for her church and ushering at local theaters.

In her final years, Jeanne was confined to a wheelchair. With her faith, cheerful attitude and strength of character, she gracefully survived for nine years. She appreciated and loved her family and caregivers. She was able to continue her love of quilting and her family will cherish her many quilts. She will be missed.

HUTCHISON, Dortha Marie

"Dot" (Carson)

1932 - 2020

age 87 of Phoenix, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 30, 2020. Dot is survived by her husband of 69 years, Bill Hutchison; children, Bill (Margo) Hutchison, Becky Fleming, Tom (Pat) Hutchison, Jennifer (Matt) Perez and three siblings, Billy Carson, Charles Carson and JoAnn Tolliver. KAMMEYER, Dr. Steven

72, passed away April 29, 2020. He was raised in Denison, Iowa, the second child of Armin and Maybelle Kammeyer's four children, and by far the most fun. Steven was born to create! As a child, he worked with his dad on cars and wooden furniture which ultimately led to his winning a scholarship to the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He once pedaled his bicycle from Denison to Chicago, where he drove a bus while studying dentistry. He then traveled to Long Beach, California where he served in the Navy Dental Corps. Throughout his life, he built many astonishing pieces: dozens of rocking chairs from exotic woods; a half pipe for his son; a three-story air-conditioned treehouse for his daughter; a harpsichord; an authentic gypsy caravan and an airplane which he piloted once. He loved music and sang energetically at any opportunity. He redesigned and renovated every house he ever lived in, including his last home.

Steven was an excellent dentist, but most people will remember him for his beautiful creations, foremost among them his children; Grace and Oliver Kammeyer. He lives on in their hearts and in the heart of his wife, Mel Kearney, and his siblings Jerry, Kay and Greg.

Steven was one of the fortunate few who did exactly what he wanted in his 72 years. His family is grateful for his love and drive which left so much beauty in this world he passed through. Due to Covid-19 services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by AVENIDAS CREMATION AND BURIAL.

LAFAVE, Victor E. III

resident of Tucson, AZ passed peacefully on May 7, 2020. He was born August 9, 1948 in Evanston, IL and lived in Wilmette up until joining the Air Force in 1967, which took him to Tucson, AZ in 1970 where he has resided for 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor E. LaFave Jr. and Virginia Ives LaFave.

His spirit is carried on by Susan LaFave (wife) of Tucson. His children: daughter, Michele LaFave of Tucson; son, Victor David LaFave of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Angie Munger of Tucson; daughter, Melanie LaFave Haggerty of Tucson and daughter, Tami LaFave-Young (Justin) of Tucson. Grandchildren, Kayla Munger, Camden Munger, Audrianna Haggerty, Emilie Haggerty, Suzannica Young, Ariah Young and Avison Young. And his sister, Sandra Cote (Paul) of Tucson.

Vic was a high school graduate of New Trier. He served in the Air Force 1967 - 1971 and then became a self-employed Investor. He was an exceptional athlete who enjoyed playing softball for the Krugerrands, baseball, tennis, and golf. He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox, Da Bears, Blackhawks and Bulls, as well as the UofA Wildcats. Traveling, music and concerts, playing the drums, photography and gardening were among his favorite hobbies and he loved to make people laugh. But most of all, Vic showed a deep love for his beloved wife, family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. The family will be planning a celebration of life gathering to take place at a later date.

MCFADDEN, Stephan "Brad"

The University of Arizona's Disability Resource Center and Adaptive Athletics mourns the sudden passing of Coach Stephan "Brad" McFadden (November 22, 1977 - May 6, 2020).

Coach McFadden moved to Tucson in 1999 to pursue academics and athletics. Ultimately receiving his degree from Northern Arizona University, Brad was a committed and dedicated Wildcat, active in both of University of Arizona's Wheelchair Tennis and Wheelchair Rugby programs. Brad loved sports and he loved to introduce people with disabilities to the wheelchair sports community. Brad became Assistant Coach of the UA's Wheelchair Rugby team in 2014, and was promoted to Head Coach in 2016 where he led the team to its first national title in 2018 and supported them in successfully defending that title the following year in 2019.

Coach McFadden will be remembered as a great coach, dear friend, dedicated father, loving husband and son. He is survived by his wife, Marie; two young daughters, Avril and Alaina; his mother and stepfather, Janet and Jeff and sister, Jennifer.

SANDBOTHE, William Joseph

1933 - May 10, 2020

Joe was the most loving, generous, and kind man to us all. He was a devoted husband who took care of his wife, and family, providing support and guidance, love and respect. He died peacefully at home, leaving his wife, of 63 years, Marianne and grateful children, Carol Ruiz, Jennifer (Michael) Wallick and Peter Sandbothe. His grandchildren, Genevieve (Kavanaugh), Mary, Toni and Lily, with his great-grandchildren, Michael and Joe, will deeply miss him. He was the oldest of seven children, born in Martinsburg, Missouri to William G. and Marjorie. He grew up in Fresno, before serving in the Air Force to work on planes. He was proud to say that he was a Korean War veteran. Joe and Marianne were married in 1957, and he continued to work as a mechanic until his retirement from the Postal Service in 2000 as lead mechanic. He was and is loved. He was perfect.
