89 of Williamsburg, MI Clayton died at home May 10, 2018. He was born April 7, 1929 to Clayton L. Arnold and Jennie Waterman Arnold in Bates, Michigan. He married Marie Adeline Bunting on May 3, 1950. They wintered at the Voyager Resort in Tucson. Clayton is survived by sister, Harriett Niemeyer of San Bernardino, CA; wife, Marie; children, Jared Arnold (Beverly Gregus) of Kalamazoo, MI, Susan Arnold of Tucson, Daniel Arnold (Sally) of Howell, MI, Sandra Arnold (Randall Sturgis) of Port Townsend, WA and Wade Arnold (Karen) of Byron Center, MI; seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Came into this world on November 27, 1969 and the Lord called him home on May 6, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna and daughter, Amanda; two grandsons who were the light of his life, Liam and Atticus; parents, Antonio and Irene Badilla; brother, Ernesto (Gina) Badilla; sister, Judy (Sammy) Gonzalez; father-in-law, John Torres; brothers-in-law, Frank (Robin) Torres and Mark (Lisa) Torres; Godparents, Artemisa Lopez and Walter Gastelum whom he admired and loved. His special nieces and nephews who loved him very much, Frank Jr., Nicholas, Danielle and Alyssa Torres, Gabryell Garcia, Maya, Drea and Santiago Badilla, Sammy, Ruben, Isaiah and Isabella Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his nanas and tatas, Frank and Erlinda Gallego and Manuel and Julia Badilla; baby sister, Marie Antonette and mother-in-law, Anna Maria Torres. Tony was a math teacher who loved and guided his students to be the best they could be. He was a well-respected soccer coach with AYSO Region 224. He coached for 18 years. He was a mentor and role model to his "Hot Shots," a special girls' team that was with him for many years. Tony was an optimistic person, he was a fighter throughout his illness. Michelle Orozco-Marmion was his ANGEL. She donated her near perfect kidney match to him. The family will forever be grateful to her for her compassion and courage to help him. He would always tell us in his struggles with his illness "that's life" or "it is what it is." Services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, Rosary at 1:30 p.m. and Mass at 2:00 p.m. at Most Holy Trinity Parish, 1300 N. BELMAN, Robert Allan, In memory of Robert Allan Belman, who passed away April 19, 2018. Son of Albert and Clare Distal Belman, who grew up in Bannockburn, MD and graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1968. His youthful interest in sports cars stayed with him through his career and his activities. Shortly after moving to Tucson, AZ in 1977, he started a specialist foreign car parts supplier before moving on to build up an auto air conditioning repair and parts firm. He pursued his love of rebuilding and racing European sports cars throughout his life and pursued track racing, auto-crossing, and road rallying. A supporter of charitable organizations and liberal causes, he gave freely of his time and money. He was active in supporting the improvement of Tucson and served on the Broadway Citizen's Task Force (CTF). He was an active member of Porsche Club of America Southern Arizona Region. He is survived by his life partner, Wanda Gilbert as well as by his brother Dale, Dale's wife Amy Tracy Wells; his niece, Livia Violet and nephew, Aaron Maxwell. Untimely taken from this family and friends, he lives brightly in our memories. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 602 North Wilmot Rd, in Tucson, AZ at 10:00 a.m. The service will be presided over by Rabbi Michael Zimmerman and Brother Dave Hedges. Bob Belman's and Wanda Gilbert's families and their friends are invited to participate. A light lunch will be served following the service. Beloved sister and dear friend, Gayel Bradshaw, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2018, at the age of 67. She is survived by her sister, Shelly, as well as numerous furry, feathered, and feline companions. Born and raised in Tucson, Gayel grew up on the east side of town and graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1970. She spent the majority of her professional life as a dental technician, and took great pride in the quality of the work she produced. Anyone close to Gayel knew that her passions in life were reading, writing, championing any one of her many social causes, and cooking, cookingdid I mention cooking. Although, she was taken from this world way too early, her exuberance, quick wit, sharp tongue, and sense of humor will forever be ingrained in our hearts, and missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Murphy's Public House, located at 140 S. Kolb Road. The festivities will begin at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.

BREMER, Anne Murphy, aka, the Mom everyone wanted, 91, died peacefully on May 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Anne was pre-deceased by her husband of over 57 years, Thomas F. Bremer. Anne was born in Rochester, New York to Matthew Gerald and Margaret Ruth Murphy. Anne grew up in East Cleveland and moved to Cleveland Heights, Ohio when she married Tom. They relocated to Arizona after retiring. Anne is survived by her five children, Chris (Celeste), Patty Iwaoka (Kako), Peggy Janik (Ed), Janet (Gerardo Gamboa) and Judy (Dan Seiter); grandchildren include: Miko Price (Justin), Mariko Iwaoka, Jennifer Gamboa (deceased), Nicole Maneval (Eric), Keni Iwaoka (deceased), Tim Bremer, Nicholas Gamboa, Heather Bremer, Lloyd Seiter and Ellie Seiter; she was great- grandmother to Alex and Addie Price and Oliver Maneval. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish, 5150 N. born March 21, 1962 went home to his heavenly father on May 12, 2018. He is preceded in death by his dad, Roy Cates. He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Cates; daughter, Lisa Cocchia (Tony); grandchildren, Lucas, Violet and Weston; son, David Cates; sisters, Linda Varney (Dennis) and Laura Cates; niece and nephews, Amanda Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Michael Bass, Dylan Bass. Steve was born and raised in Tucson, AZ, graduated from Sabino High School in 1980, and enlisted in the Navy in 1981. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Hurley and had two children. They later divorced but became friends again and shared in the accomplishments of their children. Steve has also lived in San Diego, Hawaii, and in Pinetop, AZ which was his second home. He spent most of his working years in banking with his final occupation as Assistant Mgr at AZ Central Credit Union in Show Low, AZ. Steve was an ardent UofA Wildcat fan, loved country music, coached and watched his daughter play softball for many years, loved to cook and garden, he was a staunch conservative, loved the beach, and was an avid viewer of the old time shows like "I Love Lucy" and "Andy Griffith". One of his greatest loves were his dogs and he leaves behind Kona, Star, Maggie, and Sophie. He was the "wind beneath the wings" of his sisters as he was never in the limelight but was instrumental in their successes in softball as he caught hundreds of pitches daily and cheered them on. He was godfather and cherished uncle to his niece and nephews and he even participated in birthing classes and as birthing coach for two of them. He was extremely proud of his kids; his son and his Air Force service, and his daughter with her B.S. and Master's degrees. Steve had a kind and loving spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and faith in our savior, Jesus. A Celebration of Life will take place in June with more details forthcoming. Native born Tucson resident Olie Elias died peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2018 with her children and brother at her side. She was 93. Olie grew up in the Armory Park Historic Residential District and graduated from Tucson High. She had involvement with the Women's Auxiliary of the Arizona Society of Professional Engineers, Una Noche Plateada and scouting. Olie also helped with expanding and growing the local business, Antigua de Mexico. She is preceded by her husband Ramon, a Tucson born civil engineer who helped shape the city's development and survived by her son, Ramon of Santa Barbara County, California and daughters, Rosana Silvestri of Oklahoma City and Yvette Ensign of Tucson, along with ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are with BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.

passed away May 16, 2018, she was born on May 9, 1940 in Mandan, North Dakota to Mary Jane and Walton S. Russell. She graduated from Mandan High School and, after raising her children, obtained a Master's Degree in addiction counseling from North Dakota State University. She then moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she was a long-time employee of Sierra Tucson, before starting a successful private practice. Becky was widely recognized among her peers as a top professional. During her life, Becky traveled the world, but at home she spent her free time knitting many wonderful items for family and close friends. She especially loved babies and small children. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, Brian, and her family. Her warmth, intellect, and sense of humor will be missed. Becky is survived by a loving husband, Brian, and by her sons (and their spouses) from her first marriage: Paul (Lisa) Weir, Seattle, Washington; Pat (Kathy) Weir, Fargo, North Dakota; Tim (Meg) Weir, Rochester, Minnesota, and Justin (Joy) Weir, Lexington, Massachusetts. She is also survived by a sister, Cory (Marvin) Haverkamp, Fargo, North Dakota, a brother, Walton (Edee) Russell Jr., Mandan, North Dakota, and her 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Walton and Mary Jane Russell, and her second husband, Edward A. Lefferts. The family will have a private celebration of her life and wish to thank Becky's many friends for their support over the many years she battled cancer, pulmonary and heart disease. Barb is currently survived by her loving son, Chris; sisters, Donna, Carol (Philip), Aunt to Chandra (Jamal) and her son, Tyler; nephews, Lyle, Reed (Sonya) and their children, Mia, Felipe and Santiago; nephew, Taylor; brother-in-law, Ross; Aunt Lois and cousins, Patti and Lauren (Cliff) and her loving dog, Maggie. Barb worked at Southern Arizona Family Services as General Manager. She loved her job, her co-workers and clients like family. She was a big part of the AA community and she loved all of her friends and support networks there. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Sunrise Chapel, 8421 E. Our beloved Aniceto Gonda, "Papa Itoy", joined his wife, Josefina Gonda, and two of his daughters in heaven, on Sunday, May 13, 2018. He was born April 17, 1917 in Manila, Philippines. In Manila he grew up and graduated from Far Eastern University with a major in Accounting. After graduation he joined Atkins Kroll, an American Import company and worked there until retiring as Executive Vice President. During WWII he used company assets to provide food to American civilians imprisoned by the Japanese and to pay for hospitalization and funeral expenses of employees. After retirement he and his wife relocated to the United States and they settled in Tucson in 1985. Itoy loved living in Tucson and, until he was 90, playing golf with family and friends. He also served as a volunteer at TMC. Due to his outgoing personality he had many friends who, along with his family, celebrated his 100th birthday in 2017. He was an amazing man loved by all and his life was defined by Faith, Family, Friends and Fortitude. He is survived by four children, Aniceto Gonda Jr., Eduardo Gonda, Erlinda Gonda Raezer, and Yolanda Gonda; daughter-in-law, May Gonda; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Pius X Church at 10:00 a.m. with luncheon to follow at his daughter's residence. HAMANT, Barbara, age 90, passed away on May 13, 2018. She was preceded by her husband, Lt. Col. Vincent Hamant, who died February 1, 2008. She is survived by two sons, Michael MD (Lynnell Gardner, MD) and their children, Richard and Laura and John (Thelma) and his son, Craig. Barbara was born in Chicago, a graduate of the U of Illinois at age 19, and a happy military wife travelling the world with Vince including Japan, Hawaii, and Italy. After Air Force retirement they lived in Flagstaff, AZ for nine years where Vince was the architect for NAU, then in private architecture practice until moving to Tucson in 1978. Barbara will be buried with Vince at Arlington National Cemetery. No services are planned per her wishes. Donations may be made in her name to the ASPCA. 84, of Oro Valley passed in the presence of family April 11, 2018. She was born May 13, 1933 in Detroit, MI. She attended Albion College, University of Michigan, and Arizona State University earning B.A. and M.A degrees in education. She taught in elementary grades in Tempe and Amphi Schools; later helping to found the gifted education program in the Amphi District. After retiring from the classroom, Phyllis worked in Amphi's Career Ladder and Gifted programs, in educational publishing, and as a National Board Member for Future Problem Solving Program Int. She was a passionate educator, teacher mentor, and lifelong learner. She volunteered for the Desert Museum, Western National Parks Assoc., and OLLI. Phyllis was devoted to her family and is survived by her children, John MacDonald (Sherri West) of Santa Barbara, CA, Deborah Turner (Bruce) of Boise, ID, Sarah Hays (Mark) of Tucson, Elizabeth MacDonald (Paul Folwell) of Marana; sister, Lois Heller (Robert) of Duluth, MN; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the Amphi Foundation, Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, or Tohono Chul Park.

She showed remarkable respect, dignity and politeness to all people, no matter what their station or calling in life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rudolph Eric Schroeder. She is survived by their children, Wayne (Deborah Fell) and Randolph; three grandchildren, Eric (Montana), Gretchen, and Grace; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Ava and a brother, Robert Bencic of Tucson. Bill Snyder and his parents, Hartley and Fran Snyder, moved to Tucson in 1939 and lived in the old Sam Hughes neighborhood. Bill attended Sam Hughes, Catalina Junior High and Tucson High School. At the U of A he pledged Kappa Sigma and graduated in 1953 with a B.S. in business and an ROTC commission as a 2nd Lt. He spent almost two years in Germany in the 3rd Armored Division as a tank commander. Upon returning to Tucson he began a career in the construction industry that spanned 42 years. He started two pool construction companies and owned a metal building franchise for a time. He was involved with many building projects including the start-up of Green Valley and the construction of I-19, Nogales Hwy. Bill was always drawn to the water and spent a lot of time in Mexico on his boat, the Good Grief, pursuing interests ranging from fishing to snorkeling and scuba diving. This was followed by many years in California where his expertise in pool design was much-admired. He loved his time by the Pacific Ocean, both in Southern and Northern California and at his vacation home overlooking the water in Rosarito Beach in Baja California. He retired in Green Valley, AZ., where he joined many old friends and made many new ones. He was predeceased by his son, Steven Snyder and is survived by his son, Wade Snyder; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Donations are suggested for the Animal League of Green Valley, 1600 W. Duval Mine Rd., Green Valley AZ 85614 or a charity of your choice. Dorothy Ann Tretbar, age 86, passed away on May 4, 2018. She was in Hospice at Peppi's House, Tucson, Arizona for post operative pneumonia. Her health had declined for several years with Alzheimer's symptoms from Benson Syndrome. She was born in Winchester, Kansas, on December 21, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lott and Gertrude Holland Lott; a ten year older brother, Harry Lott Jr. and an older sister, Mary who died at age three from typhoid. Born during the great depression, Dorothy grew up on a farm in a house without electricity near Valley Falls, Kansas. She walked to the one- room schoolhouse and loved the plow horses Dolly and Babe. In grade school she was unconscious from meningitis but completely recovered to graduate from the Topeka High School. She entered a combined degree program at Kansas State University. She received a BA in Home Economics from them and an RN degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansa City, Kansas. After graduating at the top of her nursing school class in 1954 she became the head nurse on the pediatric ward. Dorothy met medical student Harold Tretbar on a blind date. With mutual love and admiration they were married June 5, 1955. She followed his medical career through Portland Oregon, the Army in Germany, and Cleveland, Ohio to settle in Tucson in 1965. Dorothy and Harold (Hal) had a happy family of Bruce, Brian (Kara), David (Amber), and Nancy. Her niece, Doranne Lott Miller was like another daughter. Grandchildren are: C J Wheelock, Megan Wheelock Burns and Terra-Myers Tretbar. Jim Wheelock and Molly Myers are extended family. Dorothy was a do-it-all mother. She ran a tight ship but allowed the children to be independent. "The Bank of Mom" supported Bruce to be a Registered Nurse, Brian a Civil Engineer, David an international Consulting Geologist, and Nancy a School Psychologist. For many years Dorothy was the RN who managed the outpatient arthritis clinics at TMC. At other times she was a gourmet cook, hiker, camper, rafter and worldwide traveler. Dorothy was always involved with community activities. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, active with the fine arts group Arts Express, supported Christ Church United Methodist, and belonged to the Tucson Arthritis Support League (TASL). She was a season ticket holder to both U of A football and basketball. She was a member of the Southern Arizona Porsche Club. Dorothy was a long time member of P.E.O. Sisterhood and twice served as President of Chapter AN. Memorial donations may be sent to TASL PO Box 31164 Tucson, AZ 85751. 83, of Tucson AZ passed away peacefully on May 14, 2018. Marilyn was the precious daughter of Fred and Violet Fischer of Wawa, PA. She is survived by her brother, Robert Fischer of Chadds Ford, PA. Marilyn graduated in 1956 with a BS in Home Economics from Penn State University where she presided as May Queen in May 1956. She was an active member of her cherished sorority, Delta Gamma which includes her daughter and granddaughter. She had a short career as a high school Home Economics teacher in Lima, PA. Marilyn married the love of her life, Dean Vesling, in January 1958. In November 1958, Marilyn and Dean welcomed their first child. Marilyn was the devoted mother of Susan Siefkas (Chris), Nancy Young (Ray) and Craig Vesling (Wendy); and proud grandmother of Katerina, Cody, McKenna, Matthew, Gregory and Molly. While raising their family, Marilyn and Dean enjoyed a successful business career which resulted in their living in Titusville, PA; Owego, NY; Ridgefield, CT; Rockville, MD; Saratoga, CA; Kobe, Japan; and Tucson, AZ. The last couple of decades were with their own successful company. In addition to involvement in her children's schooling and activities, Marilyn was active in each community where she and Dean lived. In Tucson, Marilyn devoted her energies to Assistance League of Tucson, Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Chapter B, and Skyline Country Club's Women's Club. Marilyn adopted the Arizona Wildcats when her son played football there and continued to be a loyal fan supporting the teams over the years. Marilyn faced serious challenges, battling and overcoming cancer and providing tender care for a loved one struggling with Alzheimer's disease. Each person who encountered Marilyn was touched by her sweet and gracious ways and marveled at her strength to surmount any obstacle. A Celebration of Life will be held at Skyline Country Club on a future date. If desired, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Research, Mayo Clinic, P.O. Box 450, Albert Lea, MN 56007, and/or P.E.O.
