ANDREN, George William

(Col, USAF retired)

George, age 74, died on May 9, 2022, in Tucson, Arizona of heart failure.

George had a BS in Math from The Citadel and a master's degree in aeronautical science from Embry Riddle. George taught math for three years before joining the Air Force after a doctor taught him how to pass the color-blind test.

George navigated the Berlin Corridor during the Cold War out of West Germany for many years. On active duty, George moved his family around the world every eight months to two years including assignments in Germany, England, and Italy. George was proud of both having a squadron command and a group command.

After retirement, George actively gave back to the world much more than he got from it, volunteering as a private pilot for the Civil Air Patrol, St. Joseph's Hospital, and as a victim advocate with the Pima County Attorney's Office. He didn't spend all of his retired years volunteering though; he also mastered the art of the margarita, spent time with friends and family, relearned sailing, and golfed throughout Arizona.

George was a true officer and a gentleman. He exemplified the highest in public service while also enjoying the life he was given. Undoubtedly, George would want us all to improve the safety and situations of those around us while enjoying a drink and a good laugh. May we try and live up to his example.

George is survived by his wife, Jane Halstead Andren. His children include Lara (Cassie) Andren of Laveen, AZ; Hillary (Lonnie Wise) Andren-Wise of Denver, CO; and Sky (Lynn Merrifield) Andren of Medford, OR. George was extremely proud of his two grandsons, Julian and Emerson Wise. George is also survived by a sister, Karen Pringle, of Worcester, MA.

George requested cremation and no memorial service. Please consider donating to Peppi's House-TMC hospice, 2715 N. Wyatt Drive, Tucson, AZ 84712, or do something nice for someone in George's name. The family wishes particularly to thank George's very special angel, Claudia Bustillos and her wonderful family for their care, friendship, and love during his long illness. Campbell, Sharon

Sharon Dieringer Campbell

9/22/1943 - 5/5/2022

Sharon was born September 22, 1943 in Chicago and was raised in Barrington, Illinois. She graduated from Barrington High School and then attended the University of Arizona, where she earned Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degrees, both in Education.

After graduating, Sharon gained employment with the University of Arizona as an administrator for Residence Life, where she spent 28 years before retiring. During her career, she received the Governor's Award for Excellence and Continuous Improvement in Arizona State Government.

Sharon was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, where she received both the Rose and Athena awards. She served on the sorority's National Board of Directors, and was twice president of Panhellenic. Sharon also participated in establishing and operating the Las Conchas Homeowner's Association in Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point), Mexico.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Judge Henry Dieringer, mother Sally (Meier) Dieringer, and stepmother Judge Helen Dieringer. Sharon is survived by her husband Dan Campbell of 53 years, and daughters Heather Campbell-Orr (husband Tade, son David, and daughter Sarah) and Heidi McPeak (husband Greg, daughters Campbell and Margaret). She is also survived by her brother Henry Dieringer (wife Charlotte and family) and many cousins.

Sharon loved family outings and travelling, which she and Dan did extensively. They traveled to Asia, Europe, Bali, New Zealand, Alaska, and Mexico.

Sharon had a full life with many friends and family. Much happiness and joy was brought to everyone around her as she truly cared for her friends and family, especially her four grandchildren.

COGUT, Martha Marie

Martha Marie Cogut, 97, of Tucson passed away Saturday May 21, 2022, with her beloved and devoted husband Theodore "Ted" by her side, along with daughter, Willa and son-in-law, Al.

Always known as Marie, she was born on April 22, 1925, in Royal Oak Township, Michigan, to Walter and Martha Nordstrom. After high school graduation in 1944, she worked as an inspector at a plant producing B-29 engine parts, where she met Ted. They were married on November 1, 1945. While Ted served their country during a 20-year military career, Marie made a home for him and their three daughters, handling everything during Ted's overseas deployments in Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.

After Ted's military service, Marie worked with him to build their unique Hexagon House on Lake Huron in Oscoda, Michigan. In 1974 they moved to Morenci, AZ, living there for 19 years before retiring to the foothills of Tucson. Marie was an avid, talented golfer and was still playing 9 holes at age 93. When her daughters were young, she sewed all their clothes, and later made many beautiful quilts and wall hangings, cherished by her children and grandchildren. She was a talented artist and loved animals. Marie and Ted enjoyed many trips back to Michigan for family reunions.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob (Norma) Nordstrom. Living on to cherish Marie's memory are husband Ted of 76 years; daughters, Leta (Darrell) Mach of Greenbelt, Maryland, Willa (Al) Swartz of Okemos, Michigan, Pam (Randy) Bryant of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Ryan, Tessa, Amy, Sean and Nick; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Marie was a kind and loving wife, mother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

GEE, Suey L.

Suey, 85, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed peacefully on May 18, 2022 in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Born October 10, 1936, the second child of Poy Lim and Shee Fung Gee, Suey grew up as a fun-loving sibling to three brothers and one sister.

Suey graduated from Tucson High School in 1955. He attended University of Arizona then joined the US Army stationing at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. After the Army, Suey became owner of Tucson's Jerry's Lee Ho Market in 1963. Known as "Uncle Suey" to family and friends, he was known for his compassion, generosity, and sarcastic humor.

He is survived by spouse, Elina, daughters Susan (Garland) and Stephanie (George), son, Eric (Jenny) and four wonderful grandkids: Kaitlyn, Addison, Devon, and Olivia.

A visitation will be held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, 3015 N. Oracle Rd., on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Evergreen Chapel from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Tucson Chinese Baptist Church, 2411 E. Fort Lowell Rd., Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made to the Tucson Chinese Baptist Church.

MORIAN, Dan

Dan, age 67, went to live in the house of the Lord on May 20, 2022. He passed away peacefully at his home in Peoria, AZ after struggling with cancer for several years. He was born in St. Louis, MO on July 25, 1954. Dan moved to Tucson in 1975, where he graduated from the University of Arizona. Dan also earned his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He met the love of his life, Maryann (Doody) Morian, in Tucson and was blessed to share 33 years of sacramental marriage with her. The family later settled in the Valley of the Sun. Dan's passion in life was service to God and others. He served our country as a paratrooper in the US Army and had a long career helping his clients as a Financial Services Representative. He and Maryann volunteered in many roles at their church and parish school. After retiring they spent six years doing volunteer work and sharing hope with poor children in Costa Rica.

Dan was preceded in death, by his parents, John and Henrietta Morian. He is survived by his devoted wife, four beloved children, Justin Morian of Phoenix, AZ, Melissa Rabideau (André) of Aiea, HI, Jasmine Phillips (Todd) of Goodyear, AZ and Ali Archer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 3 grandsons, West Rabideau, Blake Phillips and Carter Phillips; brothers John Morian, Jr. (Mary) of O'Fallon, IL, and Robert Morian of Dallas, TX.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, AZ, 85381 on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Eulogy and Rosary service starting at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W. Utopia Rd., Glendale, AZ, 85308 on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
