"Ginger" Berry

On September 10, 2020 we lost our beloved Harriet "Ginger" Berry Anderson. She was born September 22, 1923 in Albany, VT. During WWII she worked in a munitions factory in NJ before joining the US Marines in the first wave of women allowed to serve. She was stationed at Parris Island, SC, and then the Pentagon. After WWII she went to University of Denver where she studied art and drama. She is preceded in death by daughters, Dona (Duane) Forrand, and Cynthia Anders. She is survived by siblings, Arnella Corrigan and Paul Berry; daughters, Nancy (Richard) Kirkpatrick, Kathleen Anderson; grandchildren, Angela Flanagan, David Anders, Ian Forrand, and great-granddaughter, Amira Anders. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hope Springs Memory Care Home, especially "mamacita", for their extraordinary care and love shown to her over the last year of her life.

SELLERS, James Robert

86, of Tucson passed away in the presence of family members on September 18, 2020, having been diagnosed with stage four salivary gland cancer in February. He was born on January 28, 1934 in Barberton, OH. After graduating from Arizona State University, he went on to become one of the top mortgage brokers in Arizona as president of Heritage Advisory Corp. and later as senior vice president of CBRE Group, Inc.'s Capital Markets Debt & Equity Finance Group. In his career of more than 44 years, he brought in billions of dollars in capital for the improvement of Tucson. A graduate of the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), he served in Korea after armistice. He is survived by his wife, Susan Veale Sellers; children, Jennifer Susan Sellers (Kenneth Vorndran), Jacquelyn Marie Sellers, Jeffrey Marshall Sellers (Karen Shepard Sellers), Joel Elton Sellers (Susan Vega Sellers); stepsons, Frank Douglas Ivey (Valerie Chatis Ivey) and William Cuberley Ivey (Danielle Pieranunzi); and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Matthew David Sellers. An online Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. For access, email jimsellersmemorial@gmail.com. TOONE, Dr. Eugene

88, passed from this life September 19, 2020, peacefully at home.

Gene (also known as Bud to his friends) was born July 8, 1932 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He grew up in Saint Anthony, Idaho graduating from South Fremont High School in 1950. He attended the University of Idaho and then graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1957. He practiced dentistry in Idaho Falls, Idaho from 1957-1960 and then went back to Northwestern University for additional training and education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed a two-year residency at the University of Iowa in 1963 and moved with his family to Tucson, Arizona where he practiced until 2014.

He also owned and operated a farm in Teton Valley Idaho for a number of years, and later a ranch in Fort Thomas, Arizona. His love for Idaho never faded and he visited often enjoying the beautiful country and wonderful friends. He enjoyed a number of activities including traveling, hiking and University of Arizona sports. But most of all he enjoyed his practice of oral surgery, the staff he worked with and people he took care of.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Toone and Afton Owens and his brothers, Gordon Toone and Garth Toone. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, John (Sheri), David (Gloria) and Peter (Jill); grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a private graveside service for family. A memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on his behalf to the Humane Society. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
