The man authorities found dead at a southside Circle K in the early hours of Monday morning was identified as 26-year-old Gerardo Camacho.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call around 2:45 a.m. from the Circle K store at 9810 S. Nogales Highway. A man ran into the store saying his friend had been shot. An adult male was found dead inside a vehicle parked in front of the store from a gunshot wound, the department said in a news release.
The investigation showed the shooting did not occur at or near the Circle K. Detectives identified two crime scenes that appeared to be related to the incident. One of the sites was in South Tucson and the other was in a desert area about two miles from the Circle K.
The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s department requested anyone with information about the incident to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
