Pedestrian suffers serious injuries in early morning crash on Tucson's east side

A man is being treated for serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Tucson's east side, police say.

Tucson police responded to the crash near Houghton and Valencia roads around 4:45 a.m., according to Officer Frank Magos, a department spokesman.

Magos said the driver involved remained at the scene.

The road should be reopened for motorists.
