Photos: Telegraph Fire becomes one of largest in Arizona history

The Telegraph Fire burning north of Winkelman, stretching from Superior and Globe, became the sixth largest fire in Arizona history. It has burned more than 165,000 acres as of June 16.

The fire blew past State Route 77 and burned into the Mescal Fire burn scar to the East. Firefighters have been able to halt most progress to the north. However, monsoon winds have pushed the fire to the South. Communities along State Route 177, including Kearny, Winkelman and Hayden, have been told to be ready to evacuate.
