Protest against Project Blue date center in Tucson
Demonstrators held signs and chanted at the Project Blue data center construction site, at S. Houghton Road and E. Brekke Road, on May 28, 2026. Beale Infrastructure, the company behind Project Blue, was approved for permits to drill two wells on the property.Â
Following backlash to the data center’s potential draw on water and energy in the desert, Beale and Pima County reached a renewed agreement in December that included requiring water rights to be secured through the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
