Tucson is set for a rapid warming trend this week, when seasonable temperatures will give way near triple-digit highs by Thursday.
In fact, there’s a 70% chance Tucson will reach 100 degrees this week, the National Weather Service in Tucson said on Monday.
The high temperature here is expected to be 97 degrees Thursday, 101 degrees Friday and 99 degrees Saturday, the forecast shows.
The earliest Tucson has hit 100 since 1895 was April 19, 1989, while the latest was June 22, 1905.
