Tucson broke its daily heat record Wednesday for the third consecutive day.
The high temperature was 110 degrees, topping the previous record for July 10 set in 2021, 2019 and 1979 of 109, the National Weather Service says.
That came after the record-setting 111 on Tuesday and 112 on Monday.
Also, the excessive heat warning that was due to expire Wednesday night has been extended by the weather service through Thursday, July 11.
Tucson is expected to see a high of 108 on Thursday, with a chance of showers or thunderstorms, and a high of 107 on Friday, though the forecast goes down to 104 for Saturday.
Phoenix's high on Wednesday was 115, 8 degrees above normal and a tie with the July 10 record set in 1958 and 1934. Â
