Firefighters were battling a fire in Southern Arizona near Parker Canyon Lake Saturday night, authorities said.
The fire, which began at about 6 p.m., had burned at least 50 acres of trees and shrubs near Arizona 83 at milepost 7, according to the Sonoita-Elgin Fire Department.
The blaze is not threatening any homes or buildings, but authorities issued a pre-evacuation order to residents in Lyle Canyon.
Fire departments from Sonoita-Elgin, Fort Huachuca, Nogales, Rio Rico and the U.S. Forest Service were involved in fighting the blaze.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety has shut down Arizona 83 between milepost 7 and Parker Canyon Lake.
