A wildfire burning near the Arizona-New Mexico border has remained at 5,900 acres for days, and is 70 percent contained.
The Guadalupe Fire, burning in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, began June 2 by lightning. It's burning mostly brush and grass in a remote area of the Coronado National Forest about 30 miles east of Douglas.
On Tuesday, about 150 personnel was demobilized, and that left about 100 people assigned to the fire. Firefighters include one hotshot crew, six engines, a helicopter and a road grader.
The crews will continue to patrol and rehabilitate fire lines and roads heavily used by firefighters, according to a news release.
Geronimo Trail, Forest Road 63, will remain closed in this area for the time being.
