A Starlink satellite enthralled observers early Saturday morning as it broke up and reentered Earth's atmosphere.
Since May 2019, SpaceX launched more than 10,000 satellites into its Starlink space internet mega constellation, a giant mesh around the planet, though about 1,000 of them reentered the atmosphere at a current rate of one or two a day, Jonathan O'Callaghan of New Scientist reported.
According to a Pentagon report last year, the Associated Press reported, Elon Musk's Starlink satellite system is an increasingly common source of reports of unknown objects, as people mistake chains of satellites for UFOs.
