Bursts of wildflowers 'super bloom' in Arizona
The wet winter in the West has resulted in a "super bloom" of wildflowers. Yellow, purple and other colored flowers are blossoming amid cacti on hillsides near Lake Havasu City, Golden Valley, and other parts of Arizona. In California, some communities are discouraging tourists from coming to see the blooms, to prevent damage to the fragile plants.
