Safety tips
● If you see a javelina with diarrhea on its hind quarters, runny eyes or an unusually slow reaction to your presence, try to remember the location and contact the Arizona Game and Fish Department at 628-5376.
● Avoid approaching javelinas that appear sick, and keep pets safely away.
● Keep pets and livestock away from watering holes where you've seen sick javelinas.
● If sick javelinas visit your yard and leave feces, use a shovel to clear the feces, then treat the area with a diluted bleach solution or other anti-bacterial product.
● If you'd prefer not to see javelinas in your yard, clean up any food - like spilled bird seed - which may attract them.
