AVONDALE - Police have found nearly 800 pounds of stolen jewelry, electronics, copper wire and other goods in a tunnel hollowed out under the Agua Fria River Bridge.
The Arizona Republic said police believe the items were stashed by transients.
Police officers investigating a group of homeless people suspected of stealing from businesses had scoured the river bottom searching for hidden stash spots.
