A Mesa member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang has pleaded guilty to an Arizona homicide 10 years ago.
Kevin J. Augustiniak, 33, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, prosecutors say. He’s scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 17 and is facing up to a 25-year prison sentence.
Augustiniak originally was indicted in 2003 on suspicion of murdering 44-year-old Cynthia Garcia, the Arizona Republic says.
Augustiniak met Garcia at a party at the biker gang’s Mesa clubhouse in late October 2001, authorities say.
Gang members thought Garcia was being disrespectful, so they allegedly beat her until she was unconscious, threw her into the trunk of a car and drove her into the desert.
Augustiniak and others allegedly used a knife to cut Garcia’s throat and then dumped her body, authorities say.
