PHOENIX — A task force targeting drunken drivers in Arizona has netted 949 arrests since Aug. 21.
The statewide task force's Labor Day enforcement ends today.
The task force, in a news release Sunday, said 315 people face extreme driving-under-the-influence charges, meaning they had a blood-alcohol content above 0.15 percent.
The task force said 106 people who were arrested have prior convictions.
People arrested in the crackdown so far had an average blood-alcohol level of 0.14 percent.
Ninety-two people under the age of 21 also had been arrested.
The task force wants Arizonans to be aware of the slogan: "Drive hammered — get nailed."
