TUCSON, Ariz. — A federal court has denied an appeal by an Arizona death row inmate convicted in two killings during a 1989 Tucson drug rip-off.
The 9th U.S. Circuit of Appeals' ruling Friday rejected Eric Mann's argument that he received ineffective legal representation during his Pima County Superior Court trial and sentencing.
Mann was convicted of first-degree murder in the fatal shootings of Richard Alberts and Ramon Bazurto to rob them of money intended to purchase cocaine from Mann.
