The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Bellemont west of Flagstaff Wednesday morning.
The first hit Bellemont around 5:30 a.m. and the second touched down east of the small community a short time later. Damage to homes is extensive with smashed windows and siding torn off some residences.
The National Weather Service says a line of severe thunderstorms are developing from east of Prescott to north to Bellemont and the Parks area.
The severe weather is expected to continue through Wednesday afternoon.
A tornado warning was issued for south-central Coconino County until 8 a.m.
Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Clarkdale, in Yavapai County, or 7 miles northwest of Cottonwood, moving north at 45 mph.
