New Year’s revelers can ride the Sun Link streetcar into the wee hours of the first day of 2015. The streetcar will run until 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day, according to a release from the city of Tucson.
Cars will arrive and depart every 30 minutes from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m., when the last trip of the night starts.
A one-day ticket costs $4 and works for 24 hours after the purchased time, so riders shouldn’t worry about the ticket expiring when the clock strikes midnight. Passengers also can buy a SunGo card, and each one-way trip will deduct $1.50. Children 5 years old and younger can ride for free.
The streetcar will have a shortened schedule on Thursday, New Year’s Day. It will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with streetcars arriving every 20 minutes — the normal Sunday schedule.
The streetcar will resume routine hours on Friday.
