Michigan football star Corum runs hard, gives back
Blake Corum has become a star running back for No. 3 Michigan and may be the most pivotal player in The Game against No. 2 Ohio State on the road Saturday with a spot in the Big Ten championship game and likely the College Football Playoff at stake. His numbers stack up well with players at his position who have won the Heisman Trophy this century. The shifty and powerful running back has rushed for 1,457 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, making him one of the most productive ball carriers in the nation and a Heisman contender. Off the field, though, some say Corum might be more impressive. A day after hurting his knee in a win over Illinois, Corum used money from his name, image and likeness deals to have 300 turkeys, green beans, apple sauce, milk, a winter hat and hand sanitizer donated to families in two communities not far from the Ann Arbor campus. "It's a crazy world we live in. I feel like it takes an army to change things," Corum said Sunday, taking a break from handing out the turkey dinners outside a school in Ypsilanti. "And so, we can all stick together, bring the community together and just help change the world in the slightest way."
