Cuban private grocery stores thrive but only a few people can afford them
(15 Nov 2023) Dozens of tiny grocery stores have sprung up around Cuba in recent months. The locals call them “mipymes”. They sell everything from cooking oil and cookies to shampoo, jam and toilet paper. But the prices are so high they are far from affordable for everyone.
