Former President Donald Trump was indicted today by a grand jury in the state of New York for his alleged part in hush money payments made to pornographic actress Stormy Daniels. In the final weeks of the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, tried to buy the silence of the actress who said she had a sexual encounter with the Republican during his days as a reality TV star. Associated Press reporter Mike Balsamo says the indictment is unprecedented. “This is an unprecedented moment in history. It is the first time a criminal charge has been brought against a former U.S. president,” Balsamo said.
