Aftermath of Israeli air strikes in Gaza
Palestinians in Gaza gathered near the site of destruction on Friday, inspecting a huge hole in the ground after Israel pressed on with bombing targets in the Gaza Strip. In Gaza City, residents could be seen checking the damage including that to a building whose glass windows were shattered and smeared with sand. This marked a widening escalation in the region following violence this week at Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site.
