I wish to add my voice to the others who have decried the 2 letters to the editor published on January 2. The letters, written by Mr Pickering, were blatantly inappropriate, expressing classic antisemitic themes. We are all entitled to our opinions, but when they involve broad and prejudicial criticisms of people based on their color, religion, gender or national origin, they should have no place in the Daily Star. Did the inclusion of these 2 letters reflect lack of editorial review, or does it suggest a subtle agreement with the views expressed by Mr Pickering? I think the retraction and apology from the Daily Star was appropriate though.
