A recent decision by the Arizona Game and Fish commission to allow dogs in the hunting of predators should come as no surprise. This barbaric and unsportsmanlike action is a result of the many years of state wildlife agencies- pro hunting philosophy. To control predators for the benefit of hunters killing game species is all too common. What does it tell you when the title of state wildlife agencies has the term "Game" in its title. Sport hunting is archaic and uncivilized. Time has come for this to change, but it never will until funding and basic education become part of the decision-making process. Let us hope for a more compassionate and sensible approach for wildlife in the future.
