I remember when editorial cartoonist David Fitzsimmons started at the Star 30 odd years ago. Up to that time, I had been an avid reader of the editorial page cartoons for decades. Back then, you published cartoons from many different sources. It was enjoyable, and helped soak a wee bit of politics into my non-political brain. That all ended when you hired Fitz.
I found his artwork and topics unappealing — unreadable, actually. So I guess I owe him a "thank you" for 30 years of NOT ever looking at the editorial cartoons in the Star. And when I run across an article written by him, I would never read it.
