I, like most elderly, still read the daily newspaper for news. My gripe is the sticky ads slapped across the front-page stories. As usual when I tried to peel off the ad, the paper always tears making the story underneath it unreadable. Now the headline and the first paragraphs are gone too. Why aren’t these stickies instead pasted over the insert that is folded over the top of the front page?
I called the paper, I was told it was the delivery guy’s fault, but the delivery man says the papers arrive to him with the stickies on them and he must fight the papers apart to be able to wrap and deliver them. I don’t appreciate paying for a newspaper that many times it is too damaged to read. This is not the way to win friends and keep your few papers still in circulation.
