Candidates are listed in alphabetical order by last name. The Democratic nomination is not contested, so only Republican candidates are listed.

Wendy Rogers

Wendy Rogers

Wendy Rogers

Name: Wendy Rogers

Race: CD 1

Party affiliation: Republican

Statement:

As a twenty year Air Force Veteran, a small businesswoman of twenty-one years and a mother, grandmother I’ve had many challenges and blessings in my life.

With that I’ve seen quite a few changes in our country, and not for the better; we had a constant disrespect of the law, and a breakdown in moral society through political correctness.

However with the election of President Donald Trump we’re changing that course, because we now have a leader who lets the world know that we will not be taken advantage of.

This is why I’m running, because I want to serve my country again, and I want to stand with President Trump and put America First.

We need to build the wall, end sanctuary cities, defund Planned Parenthood, defend the second amendment, cut spending, and help our veterans.

As a small business owner I know what’s it’s like to sign the front of a paycheck, I know that we have to make payroll on time, and the challenges that lies upon you. We need someone in Congress who has experience in both the private and public sectors of life, someone whose life reflects that of those she’s trying to represent.

Wonder where our Veterans Affairs committee in Congress ranks? It ranks dead last as a “C” committee. Wonder why our VA system is messed and broken? Why our military veterans who’ve served and fought to protect us are treated dead last, because fewer than 18% of people serving in Congress today are military veterans.

In service,

Wendy Rogers, Lt Col, USAF (ret)

Republican candidate Arizona's 1st Congressional District

Tiffany Shedd

Tiffany Shedd

Tiffany Shedd, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress, District 1, 2018.

Name: Tiffany Shedd

Race: CD 1

Party affiliation: Republican

Statement:

My name is Tiffany Shedd and I am running for Congress in Arizona’s first Congressional District. My roots in Arizona date back over 100 years. As a farmer, small business attorney, firearms instructor and mother of three, I am running for Congress to bring rural Arizona values to Washington, DC.

I have spent decades as a fierce advocate for rural Arizona. My husband, Rodney, and I have farmed cotton and wheat since 1989 on our farm in Eloy, AZ. I have served as a producer on the boards of various commodity advocacy groups, charitable organizations, and have successfully advocated for the private property rights for agricultural landowners.

The west means endless optimism, rugged individualism, and the freedom to live our lives on our terms. The west is where I am from, and it is where I have chosen to lay down roots and raise my family. I am running for Congress because I see our western lifestyle being taken away. Many of us moved west to get away from government’s overreaching hand but we are running out of west. We have a choice, give in and give up. Or we can stand and fight.

I choose to stand and Fight.

As a constitutional conservative, no longer can I just sit aside and watch politicians from out of town run for office for the mere purpose of progressing their own careers rather than the lives of the people in this district.

We can secure our border, we will take care of our veterans, and as an NRA certified shooting instructor, I’ll defend our gun rights.

I am running for Congress to bring real representation to rural Arizona.

I hope that you will join me in this fight to Defend the West.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith

Steve Smith, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress, District 1, 2018.

Name: Steve Smith

Race: CD 1

Party affiliation: Republican

Statement:

GOD-FAMILY-COUNTRY are the principles I’ve fought for as a leader in the Arizona Legislature. My passion and work ethic have helped me achieve being ranked the #1 conservative Legislator in Arizona, A+ rated by the NRA, named ‘Champion of the Taxpayer’, recipient of the prestigious Veteran's Copper Shield Award, ‘Legislator of the Year’ for the Education and the Disabled Community, and 'Hero for Small Businesses'. I wrote the bill to construct Arizona’s border wall, voted to stop Common Core, have been the top defender for rural water/property rights, and started the Workforce Jobs Initiative in the effort to help Arizona’s economy grow.

I’m the only candidate with a proven voting record and the only one to have won an election against a long-term Democratic incumbent. I am supported by Trump’s campaign COO Jeff DeWit and the rest of the President's Arizona team, Senator Ted Cruz, Congressional leaders Andy Biggs and Debbie Lesko, the National Border Patrol Council, FreedomWorks for America, Gun Owners of America, Family Research Council Action, Arizona Police Association, and many other conservative groups.

My wife is a teacher, and together, we raise our 5 young children in rural Arizona. Let’s restore Arizona’s greatness by electing proven conservatives to protect our families, our borders, our Constitutional liberties, and our country. Your vote matters, and I humbly ask for your support!
