According to AAA, the time you choose to hit the road could determine how stressful your holiday is. AAA and transportation data service INRIX discovered that the worst day to travel is Friday. However, if you prefer to make the most of the long weekend, it’s best to travel in the morning or after 6pm, but expect delays. As for Memorial Day itself, traffic is expected to be busy between 12pm and 3pm, with delays expected between 4pm and 6pm the day after. The ideal time to travel is Thursday before midday but when heading home, do so Sunday, before 10am. With over 42.3 million people expected to take a trip on Memorial Day weekend, plan ahead to make the most of your weekend.
