The Atlantic hurricane season has entered a notably quiet period, with no new tropical development expected through the first week of August, according to AccuWeather. The last Atlantic system, Tropical Storm Bertha, dissipated on July 24. Forecasters have added a low risk of tropical development from August 10-13, but no direct land impacts are currently expected. If August passes without a named storm, it would be only the fourth such occurrence since 1961.
