Trump Suggests Iran Should “Take Out” San Diego and LA
The White House has denied that President Donald Trump suggested Iran should “take out” the major US cities of Los Angeles and San Diego. Speaking at a recent rally in Nebraska, the president suggested that high oil prices due to the war with Iran were a “small price to pay” for stopping Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Trump told supporters that Iran “can take out a city,” adding: “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.” The president’s comments, which referenced two liberal US cities in California that have been frequent targets of his administration, drew criticism from Democratic leaders. In an X post, California Governor Gavin Newsom wrote: “Donald Trump is now saying our foreign enemies should ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego. He is deranged and dangerous.” The White House has defended Trump’s comments, insisting the president was talking about the threat posed by Iran and describing the incident as a “media freakout.”
