Have you seen the beautiful quilt, titled Sonoran Sunset that will go to the lucky ticket holder on Saturday, March 21 at the SaddleBrooke Quilt Show? Not just an exhibition of beautiful creations from the members of the SaddleBrooke Quilters, the day is filled with other opportunities for everyone -and it’s all free.
The Quilt Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the MountainView Ballroom. However, the rooms adjacent to the ballroom will also be filled with creative expression from our members. The Quilt Show includes the Quilter’s Boutique which is filled with handmade goods for you to purchase. Placemats, cell phone holders, wall hangings and more will be available, plus patterns, books and fabric.
New this year… the club will be featuring two inspirational quilters. Club members selected Athena Taylor and Carol Zupancic to represent the diversity and inspiration of what can be accomplished with a little fabric, thread, and creativity. Be sure to see the fabulous quilts created by these two very accomplished quilters.
Have you ever wanted to create your own quilt but don’t know where to begin? Members will be on hand to provide quilting demonstrations that will inspire you to begin your own creative journey. Tami Graeber will be demonstrating how to make confetti quilt binding, Mary Sara Fields will discuss how to maintain a variety of sewing machines and Pam Clarke will be showing how to do paper piecing. Paper piecing was the method used to make this year’s stunning quilt.
Maybe you aren’t a quilter, but perhaps a painter, woodworker or even paper crafter. Come and get inspiration for your next project. Just like our quilters looked towards the sky for the raffle quilt’s beautiful color palette, every crafter can find inspiration among the 100 quilts that will be displayed at the show. Some of the displayed quilts will be available for purchase, so watch for sales tags and take home a treasure.
This year’s Quilt Raffle also includes three Dine-Around Prizes. The Dine-Around Packages are valued at up to $600 each and include gift certificates from 25 local restaurants valued between $20 to $100 each!!
The choice of the beautiful Sonoran Sunset Quilt or Dine-Around prize is yours to make when you purchase your raffle tickets. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, they will be available for purchase at the Quilt Show. There will be four lucky winners chosen and you don’t need to be present to win.
We hope to see you at the Quilt Show on Saturday, March 21. You will be amazed at the talent that lives right next to you!
