Arizona moved up seven spots to No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll after beating BYU and Texas Tech over the past week.
The Wildcats (17-6, 11-1) now are the fourth-highest rated team in the Big 12, behind No. 6 Houston, No. 10 Iowa State and No. 12 Texas Tech but ahead of 17th ranked Kansas. Arizona is tied for first place with Houston (19-4, 11-1) but likely held back in the rankings because of its poor nonconference season.
Arizona guard Caleb Love (1) does a little dance as the clock runs out on the Wildcats’ 82-73 win over Texas Tech in Tucson on Feb. 8.
Among other UA opponents this season, Duke slipped from No. 2 to No. 4 after losing at Clemson while Wisconsin moved up from 21 to 16 after beating Indiana and Iowa.
In the computer rankings, Arizona is No. 7 in the NET, No. 10 in Kenpom, No. 12 in Evanmiya.com and No. 7 in Torvik. CBS' updated bracket projection Monday projected UA asa No. 3 seed in the East Region. (ESPN doesn't update until Tuesday but has UA a No. 4 in the Midwest.)
