Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and other celebrity fans of the Arizona Wildcats

The Arizona Wildcats played No. 8 Washington in the NCAA volleyball tournament on Friday, Dec. 9, and “The Rock” was watching.

Dwayne Johnson, America’s favorite wrestler-turned-movie star, is the uncle of UA setter Penina Snuka. He tweeted his support for the Wildcats’ senior earlier this week.

“The Rock” isn’t alone. Here are 17 other celebrities who follow the Cats:   

Name: Bill Murray 

Who he is: Celebrated comedian/actor — Murray is known for his roles in the movies "Groundhog Day" and "Ghostbusters." 

UA connection: Bill's son, Luke, was a graduate assistant under coach Sean Miller in 2009-10. 

Name: Shaquille O'Neal 

Who he is: Former NBA star 

UA connection: O'Neal's son, Shareef, took an unofficial visit to the UA earlier this season. The Wildcats remain interested in adding Shareef to their roster. 

Name: Jaleel White 

Who he is: Actor — White most famously played Steve Urkel on the television series "Family Matters." 

UA connection: White attended Lute Olson's basketball camp in the mid-1990s, and followed the Wildcats throughout their 1997 national championship run. White, a basketball devotee, still plays pickup games at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. 

Name: Muhammad Ali 

Who he was: Boxing legend 

UA connection: Ali attended an NCAA baseball regional game at Hi Corbett Field between Arizona and his hometown Louisville Cardinals in 2012. 

Name: David Hasselhoff 

Who he is: Actor — Hasselhoff is most known for his role as Mitch Buchannon on the television series "Baywatch."  

UA connection: Hasselhoff's daughter attended the UA. 

Name: Flea 

Who he is: Musician/actor — Flea is the bass guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. 

UA connection: Flea played the national anthem before the Arizona Wildcats faced the UCLA Bruins at Pauley Pavilion in 2014. 

Name: Donald Trump 

Who he is: Trump is the President of the United States. 

UA connection: In December 1990 Trump attended a University of Arizona basketball game with then-girlfriend Marla Maples. They were guests of Trump’s friend Gary Triano, a Tucson real estate developer. 

Name: Terry Francona 

Who he is: Former baseball player/current Cleveland Indians manager 

UA connection: Francona played baseball at the UA in the late 1970s/early 1980s. He won the Golden Spikes Award after leading the Wildcats to the 1980 College World Series championship. 

Name: Scottie Pippen 

Who he is: Former NBA star 

UA connection: Pippen visited McKale Center in 2014 as a scout for the NBA's Chicago Bulls. 

Name: Greg Kinnear 

Who he is: Actor — Kinnear is best known for his role in the movie "As Good As It Gets." 

UA connection: Kinnear attended the UA. 

Name: Bob Baffert 

Who he is: Baffert is a Triple Crown-winning horse trainer. 

UA connection: Baffert was born in Nogales and attended the UA.

Who he is: Baseball Hall of Famer 

UA connection: Griffey's son, Trey, was a wide receiver on the Arizona Wildcats football team and his daughter, Taryn, is a basketball player at the UA as well.

Who he is: Former college basketball and NBA star/current television analyst 

UA connection: Walton's son, Luke, played basketball for the Wildcats between 1998-2003 and was a key part of their Final Four team in 2001. 

Name: Craig T. Nelson 

Who he is: Actor — Nelson is best known for his portrayal of coach Hayden Fox on the sitcom "Coach." 

UA connection: Nelson attended the UA.

Who she is: Singer-songwriter/actor 

UA connection: McEntire's son played golf at the UA.
