Arizona's first two recruit commitments for its 2018 class both came from Tucson.
That local streak ended on Wednesday — Las Vegas defensive end Adam Plant announced his verbal commitment to the Wildcats in a post on Twitter.
Plant joins Amphi offensive lineman David Watson and Cienega quarterback Jamarye Joiner as part of Arizona's three-person 2018 class.
Plant comes from Bishop Gorman, a national high school football power that also produced former UA quarterback Anu Solomon.
The 6-4, 240-pounder is rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com, the second-best defensive end in Nevada and No. 12 in the West. Plant also holds offers from USC and Penn State.
