Maren Seidler
• Olympics: 1968, Mexico City; 1972, Munich; 1976, Montreal; 1980, Moscow (qualified, but United States boycotted)
• Local connection: Currently lives in SaddleBrooke
• Feat: Seidler is arguably the best women's shot putter the United States has ever seen. She won 23 national titles and was the first American woman to throw the shot farther than 60 feet. She was a four-time U.S. Olympic trials winner. Her longest throw of 62 feet 7 3/4 inches in 1979 was an American record, and that same year she won a silver medal at the Pan American Games.
• Current: Seidler is a Realtor and is the fitness coordinator at the SaddleBrooke fitness center. She was inducted into the USA Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2000.
