Following the lead of many other teams in Major League Baseball in this season being played with no fans, the Toronto Blue Jays are going to fill parts of the stands in Sahlen Field with cardboard cutouts of fans.
The team announced Thursday that it is starting the "Blue Jays Fan Cutout Crew" and offering cutouts to fans for $60 apiece (Canadian) for the season. Portions of the proceeds will benefit Jays Care Foundation's efforts to to support Canadian families who have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19.
A limited number of cutouts are available and orders will be processed on a first-come, first served basis. Each cutout can only be of one person and they cannot be selfies. There is a limit to two cutouts per transaction. The team is encouraging fans to wear Jays regalia and has posted a full list of the rules regarding photos on its website.
