MLB all-star second baseman Ian Kinsler was born and raised in Tucson and graduated from Canyon del Oro High School in 2000. During his time at CDO, Kinsler helped his team win two state championships in 1997 and 2000. Since being drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2006, Kinsler, a three-time all-star, has two seasons with at least 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases and holds the Rangers' record for most stolen bases. The Rangers traded Kinsler to the Detroit Tigers for Prince Fielder before the 2014 season.
