The Tucson Padres are official.
Sadly, the fresh gear won't be ready for the holidays this year.
But the team announced Saturday that Tucson's new Triple-A team has a name and by next week, likely a home at Kino Stadium, formerly Tucson Electric Park.
The Padres are the farm team for Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres and could play here in 2011 and 2012 before permanently locating in Escondido, Calif.
The season begins in April.
