Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Ravens open up the 2024 season on Thursday night against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
The Baltimore Ravens are expected to be one of the best teams in the AFC and the entire NFL when the season kicks off in early September.
But just how high is the limit for 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson and company?
Here are a few of our favorite betting markets for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023:
Baltimore Ravens best bets: Expert picks for 2023 NFL futures odds
The Ravens went 10-7 and finished second in the AFC North in 2022 despite Jackson missing five regular-season games.
He was also absent for their 24-17 playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals as he dealt with nagging injuries.
Although the AFC is as competitive as it has been in modern history, the Ravens are one of several teams that are expected to compete for not just wins, but also titles, and that’s why we have our eyes on the following betting markets.
Check out our odds and best bets for the AFC North division ahead of the 2023 NFL season.
2023 AFC North odds: Baltimore Ravens (+250 or better)
The Bengals are the favorites to win the division, but that greatly discounts what the Ravens have accomplished in recent years.
They are 49-21 with Jackson as the starting QB, which averages out to 12 wins in a 17-game season.
Baltimore also ranked second in points and third in yards allowed after it traded for Roquan Smith in the middle of the last campaign.
With a rebuffed cast of offensive weapons and the ever-steady John Harbaugh, they have all of the makings of a division champion.
Baltimore Ravens AFC champion odds (+1000 or better)
If Baltimore succeeds in winning the AFC North, it will have a great chance to win the entire conference.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the favorites to do so again, but they rely heavily on the tandem of Patrick Mahomes and 33-year-old Travis Kelce, and also will face tough competition from the AFC West.
Aside from the Bengals, only the Buffalo Bills are ahead of the Ravens in odds to win the AFC. Stefon Diggs is reportedly upset with his situation, Tremaine Edmunds is a Chicago Bear, and Josh Allen played injured for most of last season.
They also have tough divisional games against the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots, which will slow down their title challenge.
2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds: Kyle Hamilton (+15000 or better)
Looking for a longshot bet for the Ravens? How about second-year safety Kyle Hamilton winning the Defensive Player of the Year award?
Make no mistake, this is a longshot—but Hamilton was graded by Pro Football Focus as the best safety in the league during his rookie campaign, while fellow safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was a finalist for the DPOY.
If he continues to play at an elite level and the rest of the Ravens defense follows suit, he will quickly gain notoriety across the league and will surge in odds.
Because it is a longshot, looking to cash out of this bet after Hamilton’s odds shorten could be the most profitable approach. But bettors that ride it out would get quite the payday if it hits.
