Week 9 is shaping up to be the biggest and most important slate of games of the entire 2023 NFL season.
And it’s highlighted by three must-see matchups, with the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs kicking it off in Frankfurt, Germany on Sunday morning, followed by Dallas at Philadelphia in the afternoon and then Buffalo at Cincinnati for the night cap.
At the midway point of the season, there are no bigger games than this trio of terifficness.
We here at FrontPageBets can’t wait to see how it all plays out, as we bring you our Week 9 picks and predictions.
Pass the chips and dip!
First off, let’s take a look at what could be a preview of the AFC championship game – the Dolphins and Chiefs. Both teams are 6-2 overall and lead their respective divisions.
The Dolphins do a have a slight edge against the spread, owning a 6-2 record, while the Chiefs are 5-3 against the spot. This will be the third game of the season where Miami is an underdog; and the Dolphins are 0-2 ATS in that regard.
Kansas City has been favored in all of its games in 2023, but the 2.5 points is the closest spread the Chiefs have seen all season.
Philadelphia owns the best record in the NFL at 7-1 and has been favored in all of its games. The Eagles’ record against the spread is 4-2-2, however. The Cowboys are 5-2 in the standings and the same against the spread.
The Cowboys have won four of the last five against their NFC East rival. Something to consider.
Finally, let’s take a quick look at the Sunday night AFC showdown between two teams that are becoming quick rivals, especially after the Bengals bounced the Bills from the playoffs last year, winning 27-10 in the divisional round.
After losing three out of their first four games this season, the Bengals have rebounded to win the last three as quarterback Joe Burrow starts to get healthy and find his stride. Cincinnati is 3-3-1 against the spread, and is coming off a huge win over San Francisco where the Bengals were 4.5-point underdogs.
Buffalo has been a rollercoaster this season, losing three games to teams it was favored to beat. This week is the first time the Bills will be underdogs. They’re 3-5 against the spread.
It’s not a stretch to say that the loser of this game will be in the running for most underachieving team of the first half of the season.
