Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's status is unknown heading into Thursday night's season opener against the Detroit Lions.
When Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football to kick off the 2023 NFL season, you’re going to want to have these same-game parlays placed at your sportsbook of choice.
Chiefs vs. Lions SGP picks: Combine Kansas City with Mahomes, Kelce for Thursday Night Football same-game parlays
Here is our top Chiefs vs. Lions same-game parlay bet for Sept. 7 with odds of +145:
- Kansas City Chiefs ML
- Travis Kelce props: Anytime TD scorer
- Patrick Mahomes props: Over 250 passing yards
The Kansas City Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions and the most successful NFL franchise over the past five seasons. A lot of that success has been due to the partnership of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce.
Barring any injury concerns for Kelce (knee), we like the pair to connect quite a bit again on Thursday.
Patrick Mahomes only went under 250 passing yards five times last season and in one of those games he ended with 249 passing yards. He’s one of the most creative and explosive players in the league, and still has head coach Andy Reid leading the offense.
Kelce is one of the best-receiving threats in the league at any position. He had a touchdown reception in last year’s season opener and finished with twelve total touchdowns in the regular season. He also added another four in three postseason games.
Of course, this wager is predicated on the health of Kelce, whose status remains uncertain for Thursday evening. If he winds up playing, bet on him to find the end zone.
Thursday Night Football same-game parlay bets: Long shot Chiefs vs. Lions SGP picks, including Isiah Pacheco props
If you’re looking for a long shot Lions vs. Chiefs same-game parlay for Thursday Night Football, we’ve got you covered at odds of +825:
- Kansas City Chiefs -6.5
- Isiah Pacheco props: 2+ TDs
- Chiefs Team Total over 23.5
In this same-game parlay, you’re once again betting on the Chiefs to have a good game moving the ball. With players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco leading the way, that’s always going to be a good bet.

The Chiefs are 6.5-point favorites on Thursday night and in this same-game parlay you are asking them to cover the spread.
While the Detroit Lions had a good second half to the season last year, they are still quite a young team and relatively unproven, while the Chiefs have multiple Super Bowl victories in the past few years.
The toughest ask in this same-game parlay is for Isiah Pacheco to score two or more touchdowns.
However, the sophomore showed some really encouraging signs at the end of his rookie season and could be in for a big year. He had four touchdowns in his last seven regular season games and got double-digit carries in each playoff matchup.
Pacheco runs angry and is a pleasure to watch on the football field. It would not be surprising to see him get a lot of work inside the red zone -- where he would be able to find the goal line.
He could easily end up with two scores in the first half. If the Chiefs get a lead, look for Pacheco to get even more work.
Finally, you need to Chiefs to score at least 24 points. If Pacheco does manage to score at least twice, the team scoring at least 24 points is a foregone conclusion.
It will be easy for them to rack up that many points against a Lions team with a promising but still very young defense.
