No. 2-seed Maryland, coached by UA alumna Brenda Frese, defeated Arizona coach Adia Barnes' No. 7-seed Wildcats, 77-64 in the second round of the 2023 NCAA women's basketball tournament in College Park, Maryland. With the win, the Terrapins (27-6) advance to the Sweet 16; Arizona heads back to Tucson 22-10 with the season concluded.
