Statement win for Tigers

Arizona Daily Star

Marana avoided losing three consecutive games and took down Ironwood Ridge 20-13 Friday night behind quarterback Trenton Bourguet's three-touchdown performance.

Heading into the game, Bourguet was questionable after suffering a concussion in last week's loss to Sierra Vista Buena, but got into the game Friday after five plays into the series. His brother, Treyson, started the game at quarterback.

Marana holding the Nighthawks to 13 points was the lowest amount the Tigers defense gave up all season excluding the two shutout wins over Desert View and Fairfax.

Next week, the Tigers will face another challenge and head out to Cienega, a team that took Marana out of playoffs last season. Bourguet, head coach Louie Ramirez and linebacker TJ Cephers spoke to the Star after the game, here's what they had to say.
