Four Mexican Pacific League teams will highlight the field in the seventh annual Vamos a Tucson Mexican Baseball Fiesta, played Oct. 5-8 at Kino Stadium. The field was announced Friday by Fiesta president Mike Feder.
This year’s Fiesta will include the Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Yaquis de Obregon, Aguilas de Mexicali and Cañeros de Los Mochis, as well as a prospect-laden team from a Major League Baseball team to be determined. The Tucson-based Fiesta has expanded to Mesa and Las Vegas, and could stretch to Nogales and Douglas in the future, Feder said.
“This tournament includes some of the most popular teams in Mexico,” Feder said. “The Vamos a Tucson Mexican Baseball Fiesta will continue to be a tradition in Tucson for many years to come. We’re excited that the Mexican Baseball Fiesta continues to grow every year.”
Tickets for the Mexican Baseball Fiesta will go on sale in September at www.MexicanBaseballFiesta.com. Prices are $10 and $15 for adults, and $6 for children.
