Throwback Thursday: Pima's inaugural football season

Pima Community College is expecting to cut its football program following the 2018 season for budget cuts. The Star goes back in time to look over Pima's first ever season.

Before Pima was known as the Aztecs, it was called the Storm and the team was led by well-known Tucson head coach Jeff Scurran.

Pima Community College has built its first-ever football team from a collection of Tucson-area high school players. Representing their school are: 1st row: Eddie Rosas(Nog) ; Steve Adelman(Cho); Coach Jeff Scurran; Roderick Walker( PV); Christian Romero(DV); Steve Robles(Pue). 2nd row: Dwight Jackson(Amp); Mario Martinez(Sal); Ryan Shirley(MV); Charles Kent(THS); Anthony Cobb(Benson); Gordon Clark(Sah); Ryan Sandoval(FW). 3rd row:Josh Kimberling(Sab); Tyrell Hunt(Mar); Rocky Buelna(Cat); Shawn Watson(Proj.
