Dick Griesser
• Olympics: 1956, Melbourne
• Local connection: Attended the UA
• Feats: Although baseball was just a demonstration sport at the Melbourne Games, Griesser helped the U.S. take down host Australia 11-5 in six innings in the only game played. The U.S. team played several exhibition games before taking on Australia. Griesser went on to become an All-America outfielder for the UA in 1958.
• Current: Griesser died in 2009 from complications related to cancer.
